Water vapor loop tonight shows an upper-level trough digging into the southeast that will slowly pull Dorian to the north, then northeast. The yellow is dry air. Dorian has stopped because the high pressure over the Atlantic has weakened and dropped it off at the Bahamas. Since hurricanes do not have their own steering currents, Dorian will wait for the next bus to arrive which is the slow moving trough (dip in the jet stream).
