Mi ABLE is a special savings account program through the Michigan Department of Treasury that allows people with disabilities and their families to exceed the $2,000 asset limitation without losing means-tested benefits like SSI or Medicaid. Provided their account balance doesn’t exceed $100,000, MiABLE beneficiaries still qualify for federal benefits. The savings can be used at any time to pay for a broad list of expenses. Advocates estimate roughly 300,000 people with disabilities in Michigan
