Sometimes I make beds of nails for sideshow performers. I found this video today, of the fanciest bed of nails I’ve ever made. The case is veneered in curly quartersawn white oak, and I turned the feet out of oak. The nail bed itself contains 999 ten inch long 60 penny spikes. There aren’t 1000 because lying on beds of nails comes from the practices of the Indian mystics and fakirs, who believe all Man’s creations are imperfect. The nail bed itself flips over, and stores inside the case, creatin
