In 1994, Megan Nicole Kanka was lured into the house of her neighbor, Jesse Timmendequas, with the hopes of seeing his new puppy. Once Megan was inside, Timmendequas raped her before strangling her with a belt. He then disposed of her body in New Jersey's Mercer County Park. Megan was 7 years old.
