▶️ New Zealand soil moisture animation: February-June 2024... Although it is mid-June, soil moisture levels remain in severe deficit (🔴) for parts of the lower North Island and the northern and eastern South Island. According to our data, deficits are as large as 90 to 130 mm in Canterbury and eastern Otago. While upcoming rain will help to alleviate the dryness, sustained wet weather is needed to see conditions return to normal. The latest guidance shows more rain for the western North Island
