Bats arrive into care not only injured, in shock and terrified but many are also very weak from their struggles. Chucking them into a bed with a bowl of fruit is simply not on and they must have their injuries tended, pain relief provided and shock must be addressed or the bat will die. Once the basics have been dealt with, most pick up quickly but for some it can take a little longer.
