Our traditional #LNotP festivities commenced with #BBCProms founder-conductor Sir Henry Wood’s Fantasia on British Sea-Songs! ⚓️✨ The piece has appeared at most ‘Last Nights’ since the 1920s, often with the much-anticipated audience participation you hear this evening 🎤🎵 As well as this beloved sea shanty which lends its melody to the BBC Blue Peter theme, tonight’s performance of the Sea Songs also features Bob Chilcott’s arrangements of the Skye Boat Song and Londonderry Air, and Gareth Glyn
