A bucket-list rodeo for many made a big announcement today. Clovis will not host the fast growing event of breakaway roping in 2026 after negotiations over prize money.

The 2026 Clovis Rodeo will not have breakaway roping and both the Clovis Rodeo Board of Directors and WPRA have issued statements.

The Clovis Rodeo Board of Directors has voted not to include breakaway roping at this year's rodeo.
